Buy Goji – Better Than Acai?
If you like to look after your health and are constantly on the look out for what’s next on the horizon in the health food market, you’ve probably heard a fair bit about the Goji berry already.
Many Asian countries already know full well the benefits of the goji berry…

We in the so called “west” are only now clueing in! The goji berry is quickly becoming one of the most popular superfoods around, taking over health stores, tv shows and Hollywood…
But let’s SLOW DOWN a sec…
I mean really, what’s the deal? Should we be stockpiling goji juice, berries and supplements like it was going out of style?
Needless to say, there is no magic bullet out there. You are NOT going to live an extra 500 years because you popped a couple berries a day! (No matter what you’ve heard…)
Having said that, goji berries do have a lot going for them! They are an all natural way to gain energy, lose weight and boost your immune system when used as part of a healthy diet.
So, how should you consume your goji and all the power it can give you? Juice, berries or supplements? Well, they all have their benefits. For me personally, the supplements do have a few clear benefits…
If you like the taste of goji berries and goji juice then you have a more refined palette than me my friend! I opt for goji supplements to save my poor tongue… Supplements often have the added bonus of being stuffed with other healthy nutrients as well. I just make sure to check the label to make sure I’m getting what I’m paying for.
One word of warning… If you are drinking goji extract or munching on dried goji berries, TAKE IT SLOW! Because goji berries act as a natural “detoxifier” they flush a lot of toxins out of your body and if you eat or drink them too fast you can get a pretty bad headache… Trust me I know from experience lol!
In addition to it’s massive antioxidant powers, goji berries are said to also lower cholesterol, help with eyesight and improve liver functions. Goji products are said to be a natural anti coagulant hence their abiltiy to lower cholesterol along with blood pressure.
I think people also love the mystique that comes along with these little red berries. After all they have been grown and used by Tibetan monks high in the Himalayas for over 5000 years! They were surely aware of all the antioxidant power packed into their little red packages.
We’re definitely late to the party but were finally on board the goji band wagon! Now that the goji is firmly center stage in our world, it certainly seems to be gaining momentum and is one of the fastest growing health foods around!
Again I’m not a doctor, (nor a Tibetan monk for that matter) so don’t take what I say as the gospel!
However, many people agree, along with a long Asian tradition, that the goji berry has a lot to offer us health conscious individuals…
